It's that time of year again for the world's largest Mardi Gras Pub Crawl at the Lake of the Ozarks! It will take place on Saturday, February 16th! This is the biggest annual party at the Lake and you won't want to miss it! Of course, when you own a condo at the Lake of the Ozarks, you never have to miss an event at the Lake! Leave Your Keys and Take the Bus! 

There will be 23 total buses running from 4:00 pm till 2:30 am to get you from stop to stop! All you have to do is sit back and relax while a sober chauffeur drives you safely. 

Wrist Band Details 

There is a $10.00 event fee in the form of a wrist band. Each wrist band will include:

• Entry to 16 participating venues
• Unlimited entertainment – All locations will have a band or DJ

Tips for Hosting Thanksgiving at Your Condo

November is here which means that Thanksgiving will be here be here before we know it. If you are planning to host Thanksgiving at your Lake of the Ozarks condo, you may be concerned about having enough space to host a large event. There is no need to fret, just because you have a smaller space to work with doesn't mean there aren't ways to still be a great host. Today, Isla Del Sol would like to give you a few tips for hosting Thanksgiving this year at your condominium at the Lake of the Ozarks.

Buffet Style Dinner 

Save some space on the table and have your side dishes set up in a buffet style. Leave a few of the dishes on the counter, stovetop or island and guests can come and go serving themselves as they please. In addition, it will mean there is less to clear away when you transition from dinner to dessert.

Storage 

Small kitchens can be one of the bigger challenges when it comes to hosting Thanksgiving, or any dinner party. So it comes in handy to be a bit creative when it comes to finding space. Sometimes, the packaging can take up more space than the item itself. For example, plastic tubs that fruit and veggies come in often take up a lot of space. After washing them, it may be a good idea to transfer them into a ziplock bag. In addition, use a cooler full of ice to keep your beverages cool to open up valuable fridge and counter space.

Rearrange

Don't be afraid to rearrange furniture for the evening. It may be a good idea to swap the living and dining areas. Shift your living room furniture to the side, or use your spare room as storage for the time being to make room for the table. Having the table in the living space creates more room for people to enjoy a comfortable Thanksgiving meal. Although it doesn't make sense to have it there on a daily basis, it makes sense to move everything around to create more space a better flow.

De-Clutter

When you host a big dinner in a small area, you need to make room for your guests. Clear away the knick-knacks and create space for your guests to place their drinks. Throw your outerwear in your room to make room for your guest's jackets in the entrance closet. If you keep your shoes near the entranceway, clear them away so your guests have room for their shoes.

Be Flexible!

Being flexible is one of the biggest things that you have to do while hosting in a smaller space. Focus on the mix, not the match. Be creative when decorating and planning. It's ok if your dinner isn't perfect. Being together with friends and family is the most important part of Thanksgiving.

You may think that your condo at the Lake of the Ozarks is to small to host Thanksgiving this year, but with a little planning and creativity, you can be a great host! Fall Harbor Hop 2018!

The Annual Fall Harbor Hop at the Lake of the Ozarks is happening this Saturday, October 13th, 2018. This is a fun lakewide event that people of all ages can enjoy! Fall is a gorgeous time of year to spend the day out on the water here at the Lake. Spend the day taking in the beautiful fall foliage and enjoying the day out on the water "hoping" from the 40 participating restaurants around the Lake of the Ozarks. If you have never participated in one of the Harbor Hops at the Lake, don't worry it's easy and the best condominium complex at the Lake of the Ozarks, Isla Del Sol, has all the details for you!

How It Works

Step One: Obtain a hand at any of the participating dealer locations with an optional $20 donation per hand and draw your first card. You may play as many hands as you would like.

Step Two: Spend the day "hoping" from the participating restaurants drawing one card per location (Note: some locations have 2 dealer tables) until you have 7 cards (a full poker hand!).

Step Three: Turn in your hand by 7pm at your last stop! If you aren't happy with your hand or you think you are close to a winning hand, an additional 8th bonus card can be drawn for $5.

Fall is here and once the weather starts to cool down you probably won't find yourself at your second home at the Lake of the Ozarks often, if not until next spring. It's never too early to start planning what to do when you leave your condo for the off-season months. You want to ensure that your condo at the Lake of the Ozarks is protected from the weather and is in tip-top shape when you return. There are steps you should take when you plan on leaving your condominium for season. Your favorite condominium complex at the Lake of the Ozarks has a few tips for keeping your condo safe while you are away.

Protect your dock slip from ice.

If you've decided to winterize your boat and choose to leave it in the slip, you'll want to take some precautions to ensure your boat is protected from the ice!
