5 Foods You'd Never Think to Grill!

We've still got some nice weather ahead of us, and we know that some of us Lake lifers just aren't quite ready to put the grill away. But after a summer full of grilling, you're probably tired of the usual grilled go-to's. If you are tired of all of your old stand-bys when it comes to grilling, Isla Del Sol luxury condominiums at the Lake of the Ozarks has a few new ideas for you. You've probably never even considered throwing a few of these on your grill, but once you give them a try, we think that you're going to love how they taste.

1. Pizza

Pizza tastes awesome from the grill. Place the flattened dough, brushed with a bit of olive oil, on the grill. Once you get grill marks, remove it, add your toppings (to the cooked side), then place it back on the heat for a couple of minutes until the cheese is bubbly.

2. Oysters

Place this delicious seafood on the grill, flat-side up, for about 5 minutes. You will know they are done when the shells open up. If the meat inside is hot, then they are ready to eat.

3. Quesadillas

Just like with the pizza dough, brush on a bit of olive oil and place the tortilla on the grill. Add your cheese and toppings, and once the cheese begins melting, fold the tortilla over with a spatula. The melted cheese will seal it up nicely for you.

4. Avocado

An avocado will pick up the delicious smoky flavor of a grill in just seconds. Cook for about 5 minutes. A tasty way to finish them is to add a little salt, lime, and a drizzle of honey.

5. Bread

A nice, crusty loaf of bread tastes great with any meal, but grilling it steps it up another notch. Brush on some olive oil, maybe rub on a bit of garlic or other seasoning, and grill for about 3 minutes or until lightly charred.

6. Tomatoes

Cherry tomatoes on a skewer come out hot and juicier than ever. These are perfect for a side alone, or you can add a few other veggies to the skewer and really tempt your taste buds.

7. Pound Cake

Slice it up, brush it with melted butter, grill it, and top with some fresh fruit or the next two items on our list for a yummy dessert.

8. Peaches

Sliced peaches fresh off of the grill are incredible by themselves, but pair them with some ice cream and you'll be very happy.

9. Watermelon

As the heat evaporates the water in this fruit, a caramelized exterior develops with a flavorful, juicy core. You can add to the flavor with a sprinkle of salt and a squeeze of citrus.

There are a few main dishes, some sides, and couple of dessert options for you. You can make an entire meal from this list, but if they look a little odd to you, maybe try one at a time. There are still plenty of good days left to step out on your patio and fire up the grill. Your Lake of the Ozarks waterfront condominium is the perfect place to kick back and enjoy any one of these unique dishes. What are some foods YOU like grilling that others would typically find strange? Leave a comment!

Come back often to see all of the exciting things happening at

Unwind this Fall with these Indoor Autumn Activities!

The leaves on the trees are beginning to change colors. The mornings and evenings are cooler. It's a great time to break out the jackets, coats, boots, scarves and hats in preparation for the change in season. It's also the perfect time to start making hot cocoa, and lighting a fire in the fireplace. This season creates a sense of comfort, warmth and reflection. Who doesn't love the fall season? Wind down your summertime activities and get in the mood for the fall season with these fun fall activities!

Put the Oven to Good Use
It's the perfect time to start using the oven again! And what better way to get in the fall spirit than to bake up some seasonal pies and cookies? Look up some of your favorite apple pie or iced pumpkin cookies and start whipping up some yummy goodness. Your home will smell wonderful, and your friends, family and neighbors will certainly enjoy the delicious treats you'll be sharing with them to ring in the fall season!

Find a Good Book to Read
The best way to spend a cool morning or evening is cuddled up with your favorite blanket, a cup of tea or coffee, and a great book. Sit out on your porch, or push open the windows to enjoy the cool breeze and the smells of fall. This will give you a little time to yourself to relax and enjoy quiet time. You may want to set a timer if you've got other things to do, otherwise you may end up finishing the book and not getting a whole lot of anything else done!

Pick Back Up or Start New Indoor Projects
Summer time has us outdoors and on the water for most of our free time. With the summer winding down, and fall quickly approaching, we can begin thinking about other things we'd like to do. Whether it's working on an on-going project in the garage, rearranging or decluttering your home, or just picking up a new hobby like knitting or painting, fall is a great time to start focusing on indoor activities that you haven't had time for all summer long.

Show Off Your Creative Side
The holiday season is quickly approaching, meaning it's time to start thinking about prepping for holiday dinners, gatherings, and gift giving. Rather than spending tons of money on new seasonal decor and expensive gifts, put your talents to use! Break out your crafts and get creative with your home decor - your center pieces will be one of a kind that people will love and want to know where you got them from! Not to mention, who doesn't love getting personalized homemade gifts? A homemade gift is one that's made with love, and that's what truly matters most!

Take this Time to Reset and Unwind
Not only does fall bring a whole new meaning to natural beauty and luxury living at the Lake of the Ozarks, but it provides us all with an opportunity to unplug and reset. While summertime is wonderful and we always look forward to the busy hustle and bustle that summer brings, we're always relieved to get to enjoy the Lake in the fall. So bake up a delicious homemade pie, grab a good book and a cup of tea and just relax and enjoy the beauty that living at the Lake of the Ozarks has to offer during the fall season!

3 Benefits and 3 Tips for Moving in the Fall

While many people prefer to move in the summer because kids are out of school and the weather is often nice, sometimes you cannot control when you choose to move. Fall can still be a great time to find your perfect home or luxury condo at the Lake of the Ozarks. Isla Del Sol shares some benefits to moving in the fall, as well as some tips to make your fall move easier:

Benefits to Moving in the Fall

1. Cooler Temperatures

You can expect sunny days during the summer months, however, you can also expect it to be hot and humid. One benefit to moving in the fall is the nice cool weather. The fall is a wonderful time to move because you avoid the humidity and heat of the summer as well as the cold, icy weather of the winter season.

2. Less Competition

The busiest moving season is summer, and with that comes competition. The summer season is highly competitive and if you are selling your home or condo, that may be a good thing. However, if you are buying this could be a hindrance, as homes may be more expensive due to bidding wars. If you plan to move in the fall, you won't have to worry as much about your dream condo being snatched up before you have a chance to put in an offer. You'll have more buying power, as fewer people tend to move in the fall.

3. Lower Cost

Summer is a popular time to move, which means moving companies are in high demand. Often times the price will reflect this high demand. After the busy season is over, you could see more reasonable rates. You could also have better luck finding time and dates that work with your schedule, as fewer people are trying to move at the same time.

Tips For A Fall Move

1. Dress Accordingly

The weather starts to get a bit cooler in the fall. However, you are still moving around and working up a sweat while moving, so make sure you dress appropriately. You may want to wear layers, so you can take a layer off if you get too hot. It may also be a good idea to bring an extra jacket if it gets chilly as you are taking a break. Although it may not storm as much as it does in the summer, there is still always a chance of rain, so plan accordingly.

2. Be Careful of Leaves

Fall leaves are gorgeous to look at, but could lead to potential danger while moving large boxes or heavy furniture. Leaves, especially when wet, can be very slippery. Make sure you clear your path of leaves before you begin moving to avoid slipping and damaging your possessions, or worse, injuring yourself.

3. Plan Ahead

This is a good idea no matter what season you move in, but it will be especially helpful in the fall. Making sure your utilities are all set up before you move into your new home can help make your move seamless. In the fall it is important to make sure your utilities are all in working order as it is colder and gets dark earlier than in the summer. You do not want to be freezing the first night in your new home because your heater doesn't work.

Find Your Dream Home at Isla Del Sol

The fall scenery at the best waterfront condo at the Lake of the Ozarks is breathtaking. Watching the calm water and the changing of the leaves is a splendid way to begin the new season. If you are looking for luxury living at the Lake of the Ozarks, call Isla Del Sol at 573-552-7653 today!
