Community Events in the Fall/Winter at Lake of the Ozarks

We live in a great community at the Lake of the Ozarks! Throughout the off season, there are several events happening that benefit our community and help a lot of people in the local area. If you make the lake your home year round at the best condominium complex at the Lake of the Ozarks, make sure to support these events. You’ll not only have a great time, but you will be helping people in need. Here’s a list of some upcoming events.

Gala of Trees

When: November 19-21 - The kick-off party is Thursday, November 19th at 6 PM.
Price: Tickets are $15 per person
Where: Bootleggers Sports Book and Grill

What is it: The Gala of Trees is a fundraising event in which trees are sponsored by locals businesses. These trees are decorated and put on display and auctioned off. Proceeds from the tree sales are given to the Candyland and The Idiot's Club to purchase toys for local children.

Christmas for Kids

When: December 13th - The VIP party begins at 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM for general admission.
Price: $20 with an unwrapped NEW toy, or an additional $20 without toy per person
Where: Country Club Hotel
What is it: Christmas for Kids is a benefit sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Ozark Coast and local lake businesses.  Attendees bring in an unwrapped gift for the charity. The charity then creates a "toy store", sorting all the gifts by age/group/gender. If there are any areas that need more gifts, the money from the event is used to purchase more. Finally, volunteers come in and wrap all the presents. The following day the gifts are presented to the families and children in need. The proceeds all benefit underprivileged children in the Lake area and local charity groups.

Candyland

When: November 23 - December 12 - Hours are 2-6 PM weekdays and 12-5 PM weekends.
Where: Stone Crest Mall
What is it: Candyland is an event sponsored by the Lake Ozark Rotary which encourages the Lake community to generously give to underprivliged children. Local school counselors compile a list of kids, which is then given to the Rotary. A candycane is then hung for each family (400+ candycanes). Local residents can then choose a candycane that contains a list of wants/needs for the family. Once purchased, the gifts can be returned to Candyland or to the YMCA where they are wrapped and delivered to the school - given to the child by the counselor.

Living at The Lake of the Ozarks allows you to be a part of one of the most generous and helpful communities in the state. There are several charity groups to join. If you'd rather just volunteer your time, there are dozens of fundraisers to help. The Lake of the Ozark's best waterfront condominiums are proud to call such a great community home.
