June Events at the Lake of the Ozarks

The Lake area is packed with all types of things to do and see, and June seems to be especially full of excitement.  Having a luxury condominium at the Lake of the Ozarks puts you in a perfect spot to have access to so many fun local activities and events.  Here are just a few of the ones that you might enjoy.

5-7:  Lake Race

Bagnell Dam Strip is the base for the Offshore Super Series powerboat races. Some spectators choose to anchor their boats and watch from the water, but many line Bagnell Dam and businesses along the strip to watch these impressive boats race.  Friday evening a Race Village is set up near the dam for people to see the boats up close and visit with the racing teams.  Saturday and Sunday the actual races take place between noon and 4 pm.  The link above will take you to all of the details and an event schedule.

12:  Hot Summer Nights

The second Friday of the month, May through September, there is an award winning party on the Bagnell Dam Strip suitable for all ages.  June's theme is "Route 66 Resdezvous at the Lake."  From 6 pm-11 pm, rain or shine, all makes and models of cars, trucks, and motorcycles will be cruising the street. There is a DJ spinning tunes outside and live bands in many of the bars and restaurants along the strip.  You will see a variety of things going on:  clowns, face painting, portrait drawing, and more.

12-14:  Canine Cannonball

This fun annual event takes Place at Dog Days Bar and Grill in Osage Beach.  Both amateur and professional dogs compete for "barking rights" for who can get the biggest air jumping into the water.  DockDogs has all of the information about how it all works and how you can get your own pet involved.  Competitions begin at 2 pm on Friday, and 11 am both Saturday and Sunday.  It's really something to see and fun for the whole family.

Ozark Distellery will be there giving out free tastings.  A large lineup of exciting concerts are set for the entire Summer.

20 Welcome to the Summer Community Concert

Here is another free, outdoor, family-friendly event at the Osage Beach City Park taking place the day before both Father's Day and the first official day of Summer.  Beginning at 7 pm, the evening will include a comedian, a concert by the Travis Gibson Band, and fireworks at dusk.  There will also be several summer-themed giveaways.  Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.  Everything will be taking place on Ball Field No. 3.  Parking is limited, and the road to the park will be closed at 4 pm, but shuttles will run from Osage Premium Outlets, Walmart, and the Home Depot.  In case of rain, fireworks will be shot off on Sunday evening instead.

How is that for choices?  All sorts of different things to do all month, and this is just the beginning of an event-filled Summer.  When you couple these with swimming, boating, shopping, dining out, and everything else that the Lake of the Ozarks has to offer, it's an amazing place to live.
