Celebrate St. Patrick's Day at the Lake of the Ozarks!

St. Patrick's Day is coming up this Saturday, March 14th. There are a slew of events going on and we couldn't be more excited! Just up the road from Isla Del Sol is Bagnell Dam - where the party will get started! Be sure to deck out yourself and the kids with green clothing! Here is a rundown of some events going on this weekend:

26th Annual St. Patrick's Day Water Parade
Start your St. Pat's celebration off right at the 26th Annual St. Patrick's Day Water Parade! The parade is a fun day trip on the water and a perfect way to kick off the Spring boating season! Decorate your boat and join the fleet or take a cruise on the Tropic Island or Celebration cruise yachts ($25). The on-water parade will begin and end at Captain Ron's (34.5 MM) in Sunrise Beach. A Breakfast Buffet beginning at 8 AM is available. Boats board at 9:30 AM and depart at 10 AM. Don't miss the celebration!

Lake of the Ozarks St. Patrick's Day Parade
This year's St. Patrick's Day Parade starts at 1PM on the Bagnell Dam strip. Join in the fun of an old fashioned parade with floats, marching bands and candy and goodies for the young and young at heart. Many of the local restaurants along the strip will be offering specials and corned beef and cabbage feasts. Come early to get a good spot!

St. Patrick's Short Bus Shuffle
The 8th Annual Short Bus Shuffle on the West side of the Lake. Our safe shuttles will run beginning at 4 pm. Each stop will have live entertainment, drink specials and St. Pat's festivities! REQUIRED $10 wristband to ride shuttles available at all locations. Souvenir shirts are available too! Hub location is Captain Ron's. Participating lodging facilities will be offering special rates for everyone involved however you must make reservations before the event!

St. Patrick's Day Party Concert
Party with Double Down in H. Watch the 4th of July Fireworks From All Over The Lake!

Fourth of July has been celebrated as the birth of American independence for longer than we can remember, with festivities ranging from fireworks, parades and concerts to more casual family gatherings and barbecues. This Friday starts off the always-fun Independence Day festivities around the Lake of the Ozarks. Warrior Against Melanoma

Living at a waterfront condo at the Lake of the Ozarks gives you access to fun Lake activities like poker runs! There are many different poker runs throughout the boating season that benefit different organizations. This weekend’s event is the third annual Warriors Against Melanoma. All proceeds from the event will be donated to melanoma research and to families of those battling late-stage melanoma. Isla Del Sol has all the information on this year’s event:

Warriors Against Melanoma

Carola, a stage III melanoma survivor, founded Warriors Against Melanoma (WAM) in 2014. Carola founded WAM to not only raise funds for research but to also raise awareness of the deadliest skin cancer. The organization holds several events each year, including a Trivia Night event and the poker run fundraiser. WAM primarily raises money to donate to melanoma research. However, it also donates to the Miles Against Melanoma Family Assistance Program, which helps families battling late-stage melanoma who need help with medical expenses.

WAM Poker Run

In order to participate in the event, players make a donation of $20 to play a poker hand. They are dealt a card at each Poker Run stop. The top three poker hands win prizes. Winners are announced within a week after the event takes place. Prizes include a new iPad and Lake Area gift certificates worth hundreds of dollars. However, this poker run is a little different. At each stop, players are given a fact on melanoma or skin cancer. If the player can recite these facts at the party at The Topsider Bar & Grill, they receive a free bonus card to add to their poker hand. Try your luck and see if you can win!

Bike Night at the Lake of the Ozarks

The Lake of the Ozarks is home to many events that happen weekly, monthly and annually. Local Fall Holidays at Lake of the Ozarks

Lake of the Ozarks: come for vacation, stay for the off-season community! Isla Del Sol condominiums at Lake of the Ozarks is no stranger to the celebrations that happen off-season.  With the seasons changing all of the tourists are heading back to whence they came and the lake is settling into a cozy autumn. One of the final lake-specific events of the year is the Harbor Hop. With views that sit over the main channel, the best luxury condos at the Lake of the Ozarks gives you the best sights as people dart and race all over the lake to hit every location. The Event

The 30th Anniversary Harbor Hop is one of the best ways to get out and see the color changes occurring all throughout the Lake area, while you and your friends scramble from location to location to complete your "hands". Harbor Hop helps showcase that Lake of the Ozarks is more than just a summer getaway- It's a permanent paradise for all of our residents!

Locations

This year, Harbor Hop has over 40 locations involved and participants must travel via boat or land in an attempt to draw 7 cards (A full poker hand). One card can be drawn at each of the participating locations, and when the 7th card is drawn, the hand is turned in. It's a long drawn out poker game meant to get people traveling all over the Lake!

Rules

The rules are simple. Players can sign up by visiting any of the participating "checkpoints" and pay an optional $20 donation. Players can enter more than once (meaning that one player can play multiple hands).  The 1st card is drawn where the hand is purchased; and 6 more cards are given at the 6 other checkpoints a player "hops" to. When the 7th or final card is drawn, (an optional 8th card may be drawn for $5) the hand is turned in. This must be done before 7PM on the day of the Harbor Hop! Winners are notified via mail.

Prizes

Prizes are based on donations received. The top ten poker hands receive prizes, as well as the 4 worst hands. Random drawing will also award ten more hands. Finally, there is a bonus "section" winner in which a winner will be chosen from drawing all of your cards within one section of checkpoints. Did we mention that all the prizes are cash?



If you had access to the main channel via boat, It would be easy to hit several sections of the event within the time-frame. The best waterfront condos at the Lake of the Ozarks sit in the perfect spot for this Lake holiday! The 360 degree view will be filled with boaters bounding all over trying to collect their hands, you should join them!

The 9th Annual Bikefest Is This Weekend!

The Lake is expecting over 35,000 bikers to roll into town September 17-20 for the 9th Annual Lake of the Ozarks Bikefest.  The entire Lake area is preparing to welcome them with open arms, incredible live music, and all types of fun and exciting events.  Isla Del Sol at the Lake of the Ozarks has a few of the details for you.  

Bike Night

A lot of the excitement will be going on up and down the Bagnell Dam Strip. Thursday is not only the opening night for Bikefest, but it is also the Strip's monthly Bike Night.  The center lane will be filled with motorcycles to check out.  It's really a cool sight to see each month, but during Bikefest, there will be more parked there than ever.  

Passport Ride & Bike Giveaways

Over 200 bars, restaurants, and local businesses will be participating in Bikefest with food and drink specials and lots of live music.  24 of these are passport stops for the weekend.  Participants that get their passports stamped can enter them in a drawing to win a 2014 FXSB Softail Breakout Harley Davidson!  Click for a list of Official Bikefest Passport Stops here.

There are also a few more chances to qualify to win your choice of a Custom Fat Boy or a Stryker motorcycle before they give it away at the Surdyke Yamaha Bike Auction on Saturday, September 20 at 1 pm.  21 people have already qualified over the Summer.  Your last 3 chances are at Bike Night on the Strip Thursday night, Friday at Pickleheads Road House's 38 Special concert, and Saturday morning at Surdyke Yamaha.      

Motorcycle Auction 

Saturday, September 19 from 11 am - 3 pm, lots of major brand pre-owned bikes will be auctioned off at Surdyke Yamaha.  Many have no reserve price! Admission is free, and this is a family-friendly event.  You may start viewing the bikes for sale starting Saturday morning at 9 am.  They will even be auctioning off a few end-of-season boats and PWC's.

There will be four vendor villages set up around town.  Lots of tents full of all types of motorcycle apparel and merchandise will be featured.  The four locations are:

• Toad Cove Compound with Throttle America
• That Dam FORR Rally at the Campground below Bagnell Dam    

Scenic Rides

Labor Day Weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks

Labor Day weekend is a time for family, food, fun, and fireworks!  The best waterfront condominiums at the Lake of the Ozarks is the most wonderful place to enjoy an exciting holiday weekend.  The view alone from our island paradise is the perfect farewell to Summer & welcome to Fall that you can experience.

We have to end by mentioning the area itself as a source for fun.  There are hundreds of incredible bars and restaurants to visit, most of which will feature some amazing live entertainment over the weekend.  There will be lots of Labor Day sales going on everywhere, numerous parks to visit, and last but certainly not least, the lake!  Getting out on the water always makes for an incredible day.

There are lots of family fun events that happen every year around the Lake area, and this weekend has one that also raises a lot of money for many local non-profit organizations and charities.  Just a very short distance away from our luxury waterfront condominiums at the Lake of the Ozarks, is the Great Bagnell Dam Duck Drop.  This event covers two days, with a golf tournament on Friday, July 31 and the Duck Drop and Family Fun Zone both on Saturday, August 1.

Golf Tournament

If you enjoy golfing, then this fun tournament is definitely one for you to take part in.  It takes place at the Cove golf course at the Lodge of Four Seasons. The tournament is a 4-person scramble with a shotgun start.  Participants will also get a chance to compete in a hole in one competition worth $25,000, a putting contest for $5,000, and many other course contests and special events.  Your $125 entry fee includes a goody bag, 10 Duck Drop tickets, breakfast before the tournament, and admission to the awards party at Savannah Grille afterwards.  You can register for the golf tournament online.  

Family Fun Zone

Dam Bait & Campground next to Bagnell Dam will be the site for the Family Fun Zone full of games and activities.  Wristbands are $5 per child. There will also be a dunking booth, bounce houses, martial arts and dance demonstrations, food, and lots of prizes and goodies!  This will be going on from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday.    

Duck Drop      

Everyone will head to the water a little before noon to watch all of the rubber ducks being dropped out of a helicopter and off of pontoon boats.  These numbered ducks will be racing to a finish line, and the owner of the first duck to cross will win $5,000.  The next 7 ducks across the line will also earn prizes. You can find out where to purchase your Duck Drop tickets at www.greatdamduckdrop.com, and they will also be sold at the Family Fun Zone until 11:00 am.  You do not have to be present to win.  Winners will be announced at the Fun Zone and on Mix 92.7.

This wonderful fundraising event is one of many great things to do near our Lake of the Ozarks waterfront condominiums.  All of the proceeds stay local, and many different worthwhile organizations benefit via the Ozark Coast Kiwanis.  We hope that everyone gets a chance to experience this very special event.

AquaPalooza 2015 at the Lake of the Ozarks - Fun on the Water!

If you are someone that chooses to live at the best condominiums at the Lake of the Ozarks on our private island paradise, then you are most likely someone that enjoys being on the Lake.  If not directly on it, then at least near it.  One of the Summer's most exciting family boating events is happening this Saturday at Dog Days Bar and Grill - AquaPalooza!

This incredible annual event at the Lake of the Ozarks brings thousands of people out for a 5-hour lakeside concert.  Four amazing bands will be performing, and people will be dockside and with boats tied up to each other in the cove to watch.  You don't have to be on a boat to enjoy the music, because you can still see and hear everything from the restaurant itself.
