Maximize Your Space in Your Condo!

Many people are reluctant to buy a condo at the Lake of the Ozarks because they are afraid that there will not be enough space. Even though our luxury condos at the Lake of the Ozarks are over 1,300 square feet, everyone always feels like they need more room. However, most of the time it isn't space you are lacking, it's organization. Follow these tips below to maximize space in your condo!

Organize Your Living Room

As a central hub of entertainment and relaxation for most families, it can be difficult at times to keep out the mess and clutter in your living room. When looking to maximize these areas, it is best to find multi-functioning furniture. Invest in a coffee table with bottom shelving, and drawers for magazines and normal table clutter. T.V. stands with drawers and cabinets are great for storing movies and games in a neat way. Additionally, adding a few nice accent end tables with open sides or cabinet doors will give your living areas extra storage room, creating a beautiful spacious look.

Maximize Bathroom Storage

Putting baskets under the sink and behind doors can be useful for storing small electrical appliances, such as electric razors and curling irons, when not in use. For more space options, buy a plastic shoe organizer, cut it into three or four sections and attach them on the inside of doors or inside sink cabinets.

Get the Most out of Your Bedroom

Having a clean and spacious bedroom will maximize your relaxation and comfort in your condo. Having a few flat bins are great for storing out of season clothes under the bed. Utilizing closet organizers to separate clothing, shoes, ties, scarfs and more will yield more functionality to your closet. Get a nice stand up hamper with a lid that matches the theme of your bedroom. Be sure to go through your clothes seasonally to see if they are getting old and faded or aren't fitting right anymore. Yearly closet cleanouts are important for keeping clutter at a minimum.

Maximizing Your Entryway

As the first area that you welcome your guests into your condo, the entryway is often the most cluttered by shoes, coats and children's backpacks. Simple organization and a few additions can make a major difference between clutter and opening up your entryway. You can maximize space by adding a storage bench; this is a good place to store shoes and backpacks, as well as other things that need a place close to the door. Top that off with a wall mounted coat rack, a few shelves for pictures and a mirror for a great accented look. Now you have a beautiful entryway that reflects the open theme of your condo.

Enhance Your Space with these Helpful Storage Hacks

Although it may not feel like it, spring will be here before we know it! Clutter is bound to happen in smaller spaces, so the more storage solutions you can find, the cleaner and calmer your rooms will feel. Spring is the perfect time to get your living quarters organized. If you are planning on doing some spring cleaning this year, here are seven storage tips for your Lake of the Ozarks condo.

1. Go Up!
One space that seldom gets used for storage is vertical areas, like the back of doors. Those precious square feet can be put to good use, especially for narrow items that get cluttered quickly. There are several wire baskets that can go on the back or regular, cabinet and closet doors. These are great for saving space and keeping contents easy to view.

2. Don't Ignore The Nooks
Even small spaces can be useful. Shelves don't have to be long expanses of horizontal space to be useful. If you have a corner that isn't being used, add a shelf! Get creative in how you can use small, empty spaces in your home.

3. Use Out-In-The-Open Storage
We often think of storage as closed doors and drawers, however, in smaller space, we have to get unique with how items are stored, which may include using spots that are in view. Consider adding a hanging wire basket to the side of a kitchen cabinet that can decoratively store the boxes of aluminum foil, wax paper and plastic wrap.

4. Double-Duty Furniture
Furniture that can do more than one thing are perfect in small spaces. Ottomans with storage space work wonders in cutting down the clutter in living rooms and bedrooms. Strategically placed bookshelves can double as a work surface and storage unit.

5. Use Windows
Although windows are great in small spaces, as they can bring in natural light that makes a tight room feel bigger, they also gobble up potential storage spots. To get the best of both worlds, think creatively. In a kitchen, add a bar to the top of the window and use it to hang pots and pans, or add a shelf and use it to store bowls and cups.

6. Go Under
If there are items you just can't store out in the open, go under! The space under the bed is great for storing things that you want to keep handy, but don't need all the time. If there isn't much space under your bed, you can use bed risers to add several inches underneath it. Once you have the bed risers in place, you can stack storage boxes on top of each other, or utilize bigger bins.

7. Hang Items Up
Sometimes there is a lot of empty space not being used inside cupboards and cabinets. If you want to utilize this space, you can add a small tension rod and hang items. Under the sink, you can add a tension rod and hang cleaning supplies.
