🍁Tips For Decorating For Fall 🍁

Summer is not quite over yet, but it's never too early to start thinking about redecorating. Fall is just around the corner and it always seems like it just doesn't last quite long enough. Fall decorations are among many peoples favorite decorations and you will want to start decorating as soon as possible to make the most of your Fall decorating. Today, your favorite condominiums at the Lake of the Ozarks has some Fall decorating ideas and tips for you!

Create an Inviting Entry Way

One of the easiest ways to create an inviting Fall entryway is to add a decorative Fall inspired wreath to your door. From pine cones, pumpkins, and autumn leaves, adding a gorgeous wreath to your front door is the perfect way to get your home looking like Fall in no time!

Get Creative with Existing Decore

When decorating for Fall you don't always have to purchase brand new decor to create a warm Fall feeling in your home. Considering using some of your existing decor and Fall accents for your decorations. Here are a few examples:

  • If you have vases in your home decor already, add some pine cones and fall flowers for the perfect Fall look.
  • Do you have candles in your existing decor? Add some twine or raffia around your candles to transform them into Fall decor
  • If you have a coffee table centerpiece that has a tray, get rid of everything on the tray and replace with pinecones, acorns, or Fall colored flowers.

Endless Pumpkin Crafts

Of course, what's Fall without incorporating pumpkins into your decor. There are endless ways to decorate with pumpkins that don't require carving.

  • Spray paint small pumpkins gold for accents
  • Use Mod Podge to attach lace, tissue paper, or fabric to small or large pumpkins
  •  Place small pumpkins in vases

Mums

Nothing says autumn more than a bunch of mums beautifully planted in front of your home. Mums are great for condos, as they do well when planted in pots. Whether you have them indoors or outdoors, they are the perfect way to add a pop of color. They are relatively easy to take care of, as they are a hardy fall plant. With the proper care, your mums could last many years in a pot.

Campfires, hayrides, and pumpkin spice will be here before you know it! It's the perfect time to start gathering up your Fall decorations so you are ready for the new season. When you live in a waterfront condo at the Lake of the Ozarks, you'll want to decorate your deck as well, so boaters can enjoy your seasonal decorations too. At Isla Del Sol, we love seeing the Lake transform into fall. If you want to join us in seeing the leaves change colors, call us today at 573-552-8418 to schedule a viewing of one of our gorgeous, Lake of the Ozarks waterfront condo.

Unwind this Fall with these Indoor Autumn Activities!

The leaves on the trees are beginning to change colors. The mornings and evenings are cooler. It's a great time to break out the jackets, coats, boots, scarves and hats in preparation for the change in season. It's also the perfect time to start making hot cocoa, and lighting a fire in the fireplace. This season creates a sense of comfort, warmth and reflection. Who doesn't love the fall season? Wind down your summertime activities and get in the mood for the fall season with these fun fall activities!

Put the Oven to Good Use
It's the perfect time to start using the oven again! And what better way to get in the fall spirit than to bake up some seasonal pies and cookies? Look up some of your favorite apple pie or iced pumpkin cookies and start whipping up some yummy goodness. Your home will smell wonderful, and your friends, family and neighbors will certainly enjoy the delicious treats you'll be sharing with them to ring in the fall season!

Find a Good Book to Read
The best way to spend a cool morning or evening is cuddled up with your favorite blanket, a cup of tea or coffee, and a great book. Sit out on your porch, or push open the windows to enjoy the cool breeze and the smells of fall. This will give you a little time to yourself to relax and enjoy quiet time. You may want to set a timer if you've got other things to do, otherwise you may end up finishing the book and not getting a whole lot of anything else done!

Pick Back Up or Start New Indoor Projects
Summer time has us outdoors and on the water for most of our free time. With the summer winding down, and fall quickly approaching, we can begin thinking about other things we'd like to do. Whether it's working on an on-going project in the garage, rearranging or decluttering your home, or just picking up a new hobby like knitting or painting, fall is a great time to start focusing on indoor activities that you haven't had time for all summer long.

Show Off Your Creative Side
The holiday season is quickly approaching, meaning it's time to start thinking about prepping for holiday dinners, gatherings, and gift giving. Rather than spending tons of money on new seasonal decor and expensive gifts, put your talents to use! Break out your crafts and get creative with your home decor - your center pieces will be one of a kind that people will love and want to know where you got them from! Not to mention, who doesn't love getting personalized homemade gifts? A homemade gift is one that's made with love, and that's what truly matters most!

Take this Time to Reset and Unwind
Not only does fall bring a whole new meaning to natural beauty and luxury living at the Lake of the Ozarks, but it provides us all with an opportunity to unplug and reset. While summertime is wonderful and we always look forward to the busy hustle and bustle that summer brings, we're always relieved to get to enjoy the Lake in the fall. So bake up a delicious homemade pie, grab a good book and a cup of tea and just relax and enjoy the beauty that living at the Lake of the Ozarks has to offer during the fall season!

5 Fall Decorating Ideas

Autumn has set in at the Lake of the Ozarks. The leaves are slowly changing and the nights are getting chilly. If you live at the Lake of the Ozarks year round, or if you are still visiting your second home during the fall, you will want to spruce up your living space for the new season. Isla Del Sol has a five fall decorating ideas to get your condo at the Lake of the Ozarks ready for the season.

1. Greet Your Guests

Greet your guests before they come in with a beautiful wreath. Whether it is store bought or homemade, adding this decorative piece to your front door will get you ready for sweater season in no time. With fall leaves and other autumn favorites, a decorative wreath is a great way to brighten your entrance way.

2. Get Creative With Pumpkins

Pumpkins are a traditional favorite when it comes to fall decorating ideas. Even if they're not carved for Halloween, pumpkins will sure bring in the autumn season. There are a bunch of different ways to decorate pumpkins, so you will be sure to have a variety on your porch or deck. Pumpkins can be painted, carved, decoupaged, the list could go on. No matter what your fall decorating theme is, you will be sure to be able to decorate your pumpkin to match.

3. Mums The Word

4. Bring In Spices

Not all fall decorating has to be visual. One of the best ways to bring in the season is to have the scent of autumn sweeping through your home. Candles are an easy way to achieve this and can add to the look of your decor. However, to quickly transport your home into autumn you can boil a pot of spices, such as cinnamon sticks, cloves and nutmeg.

5. Light It Up

Exterior lights are always a great way to add easy curb appeal to any home, including condos! Stringed lights are a great way to add extra light to your covered deck during the summer. However, in the fall, change it up with more decorative lights or adding a fall garland. Autumn is the time when it gets dark early, so adding lights is not only decorative, it's practical too!

Decorating both the inside and outside of your condo is a great way to dive into the new season. When you live in a waterfront condo at the Lake of the Ozarks, you'll want to decorate your deck as well, so boaters can enjoy your seasonal decorations too. At Isla Del Sol, we love seeing the Lake transform into fall. If you want to join us in seeing the leaves change colors, call us today at 573-552-8418 to schedule a viewing of one of our gorgeous, Lake of the Ozarks waterfront condo
